Questions about our pricing
-
What is an in-kind transfer?
An in-kind transfer is when instead of liquidating your assets to a specified amount of cash, you keep the investment in your IRA and transfer it “in-kind” to another retirement account IRA or 401(k). When the transfer is finished, your Rocket Dollar IRA will own the asset instead of your old IRA, and you will retain all the tax benefits on your investment.
Rocket Dollar currently does not accept in-kind public assets or cryptocurrency transfers. Rocket Dollar is working on accepting in-kind transfers of publically traded securities.
Rocket Dollar does not charge to move retirement cash. The pricing for moving alternative assets, such as real estate or private stock, is:
1-5 assets: $175
up to 10 assets: $300
up to 15 assets: $450
up to 20 assets: $600
Additional $50 for each additional custodian. You can find more details here.
-
What is Rocket Dollar's refund policy?
At Rocket Dollar, we are committed to providing our customers with a great experience.
If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your experience, you may request a refund by sending an email to Rocket Dollar Support (log into your dashboard to contact support) within 10 days of payment. Rocket Dollar will refund the full amount, less any hard cost fees incurred by Rocket Dollar.
-
What types of retirement accounts can I open with Rocket Dollar?
We offer Self-Directed IRA and Self-Directed Solo 401(k) accounts, depending on the needs of each of our customers. All of our accounts allow investors to choose their own investments, and can choose between a Gold and Silver subscription.
-
What about wire fees?
Depending on what type of account you select, you will have a different wire fee.
Direct Custody IRAs: $35 wire Fee
Checkbook IRAs: $35 wire fees to transfer from the IRA account to the checkbook bank account, $10 wire fees from the checkbook bank account to send to investments.
Solo 401(k): $10 wire fees
-
Are there any other fees?
Rocket Dollar has a $50 closing fee on our primary custodian fee sheet, and will never charge a closing fee during the 10-day refund policy.
