Trust the Process: How to Invest in Post-Revenue Tech Startups

Watch on-demand

Trusting the Process

After 20 years of angel investing, Kanth Miriyala of Opika Ventures has developed a criteria for investing in post-revenue tech startups. Our focus? Connecting prospective investors with premier opportunities in cutting-edge technologies. We meticulously source and vet these opportunities, ensuring we only present our best to our community.

Investing in startups is an asset class that has historically outperformed the stock market. However, the challenges of finding, sourcing, vetting, selecting, and investing in the right startups have led many potential investors to miss out on these opportunities. Additionally, its low correlation with other asset classes makes it an attractive asset for diversification. Join us as we navigate through the complexities of this industry, sharing the lessons we've learned over the years.

You’ll learn:

  • Startups as an asset class and how it differs from others and traditional investments.
  • How Opika selects new investments and the methodology behind their process.
  • How much you should allocate to diversify your portfolio.
  • The risks involved when investing in startups and other asset classes.
  • Where you can find such syndicates.

Meet the hosts:

Dr. Kanth Miriyala is an angel investor, entrepreneur, and mentor with experience over three decades. Kanth is passionate about tech, mentoring entrepreneurs, and supporting startups, particularly in Web3, AI, and other cutting-edge technologies. Initially losing money in angel investing, Kanth learned his lessons and developed a rule-based approach that significantly improved his investment outcomes. Recognizing the complexity and inaccessibility of this asset class for many accredited investors, he is committed to making these opportunities more understandable and reachable. By transforming personal investments into syndications, Kanth aims to streamline the entry for others into this domain while sparing them the learning curve he once navigated.
